Hasitha Kakileti

Global Prevention Fellow

Hasitha Kakileti is a recent graduate of Rowan University’s Environmental and Sustainability Studies program with a background in community engagement, outreach, and public-facing work. Passionate about education, prevention, and relationship-building, Hasitha is especially interested in work that strengthens community connection and supports individuals through compassionate, evidence based, and people centered approaches.

Through experiences with organizations including Global Philadelphia Association, Clean Water Action, TerraCycle, and Sustainable Haus, Hasitha has developed experience in outreach coordination, public engagement, volunteer support, and community-based programming. Her work has included organizing events, supporting educational initiatives, building partnerships with local organizations, and creating welcoming environments centered on communication and connection.

In addition to professional experience, Hasitha brings a strong personal commitment to recovery, community support, and service-oriented work. She is passionate about fostering spaces where people feel respected, supported, and empowered. As a PreventionEd Fellow, Hasitha is excited to continue developing skills in prevention education, facilitation, and youth engagement while contributing to meaningful, community-centered programming.
